Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell

Intellectual property rights (IPR) refers to the legal right granted to the inventor or creator to keep their idea or innovation secret for a certain period of time.These legal rights grant the creator or inventor the sole right for a certain duration, to make full use of their product for the benevolence of receivers. On May 12, 2016, the National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy was approved by the Union Cabinet. The goal of the policy is to harness India's abundant creative and innovative energy and direct it towards building a better, more promising future. A vision document that unifies and brings all intellectual property rights onto one platform is the National IPR Policy.The IPR cell of the college takes positive initiation to create awareness on IPR among the stakeholders of the Institution.

Objectives:

  1. To emerge potential among faculty members and students on the various aspects of intellectual property rights (IPRs), including trade secrets, copyright, patents, and trademarks.
  1. To raise awareness and educate on Intellectual Property Rights among the faculty members and students of Ghatal Rabindra Satabarsiki Mahavidyalaya.
  1. To assist faculty members and students in promoting creative concepts and endeavours that will result in the production of intellectual property.
  1. To organize IPR-related workshops, symposiums, seminars, etc. at frequent intervals.
