The Department of Zoology is one of the important departments of Ghatal Rabindra Satabarsiki Mahavidyalaya. Department of Zoology began its journey in the year 2004 with a general course. Later, the undergraduate honours course was introduced in the year 2006. The department is enriched with excellent and responsible teaching and non-teaching staff. Faculties are enriched with research experiences from different areas. They are hard-worker and always try to motivate students. The faculties of the department give importance to completing the syllabus in time and also look at all the practical classes with great care. The department of Zoology is actively involved in organizing and participating in different seminars, webinars, exhibitions, environmental awareness programs, etc. All the students participate in Student seminars which are important parts of the department and every student must present their topics from every semester.
