The National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell at Ghatal Rabindra Satabarsiki Mahavidyalaya is built on the philosophy of democratic living and underscores the need for selfless community service. The department aims to bridge the gap between higher education and rural society, transforming undergraduate students into socially responsible, empathetic, and civically active citizens.

1. DEPARTMENTAL OVERVIEW & VISION

The NSS  operates as a vibrant extension wing of the institution, translating classroom concepts of political science, citizenship, rights, and governance into real-world grassroots action. The cell provides a structured field platform where youth volunteers engage directly with rural communities, developing critical capacities in disaster orientation, civic literacy, leadership, and rural development management.
