The department of Botany was engrafted in Ghatal Rabindra Satabarsiki Mahavidyalaya in the year 2004 by introducing pass course. Letter, in 2007 the honours course was brought in with capability of 47 seats. Now the seat increased to 58 for honours and 11 for Multi-Disciplinary Course (MDC). Presently the department has six teaching staff and one non-teaching staff. The teachers are specialized in different areas of the subject and therefore, are perfectly competent to meet the demand of the learner.
