MATHEMATICS

The Department of Mathematics of Ghatal Rabindra Satabarsiki Mahavidyalaya has been playing a significant role in promoting quality mathematical education in the region. The department began its journey with the introduction of the Pass (General) Course in 1986, marking the beginning of undergraduate mathematics education in the college. Responding to the growing demand for advanced studies, the Honours Course was introduced in 1996, opening new opportunities for academically talented students. The department further expanded its academic horizon with the introduction of the Postgraduate Programme (M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics) in 2015. Over the years, the department has developed a learner-friendly environment supported by dedicated faculty members, modern teaching methods, seminars, workshops, and continuous academic mentoring. Many students of the department have achieved success in higher education and professional careers. Overall, the Department of Mathematics plays an important role in promoting academic excellence and preparing students for future opportunities.
